Sasol has provided their support of the RallyStar rally SMS service to emphasize their further commitment to grow the sport of motor rallies in South Africa.

The eight Sasol National Championship rallies are held during a period of nine months all over South Africa, which makes it is difficult for rally fans to be on the scene at every event.

To ensure that the thousands of fans know all about it, and based on the number of requests sasolracing.co.za and RallyStar received during past events last year from eager supporters, Sasol has decided to support this essential RallyStar SMS service.

Leon Botha, editor of the RallyStar website says, "Without the support of Sasol the public would have to paid a lot more for the service, but they can now join us to get all the results of the coming Sasol National Championship Rally series for a mere R200 per year. This means that they will be able to follow the progress at the top of the leader board almost as the cars go though the flying finish of a special stage!"

Fans can still register in time for the coming Hitachi Tour Natal Rally which will be held in Durban on the 4th and 5th of March 2005.

Interested persons can contact Rallystar on [email protected] or phone Ronell Grobler on (012) 347 8532

On each event, the "Sasol Performance Playground" (entertainment area) will operate at key locations. Here spectators can play the latest PlayStation 2 games, sitting inside a Sasol Toyota Tazz rally car and win a latest PlayStation 2 game by correctly predicting the overall and Production Car Class winner on each event.

With the co-operation of MotorPics and Nikon, Sasol will provide a digital camera worth over R5000 to an amateur photographer present on each event. The full details and the rules of the competition are available at www.motorpics.co.za.

To add to the convenience of aquiring spectator guides before each of the eight rounds, the public will be able to go to their closest sasol delight store to collect a copy, on events where Sasol has their service stations.
