With the aim of providing reliable, budget transport for new and small business owners, Chana South Africa will certainly be playing to a very receptive local market at its interactive outdoor exhibition area.

General sales manager Trevor Thomas said, "Auto Africa serves as the perfect platform to launch our products. Based on the initial level of public interest in the Chana brand, we anticipate a large turnout at our stand. We aim to give the public a glimpse of the commercial and passenger products that Chana will be bringing to market in the near future.

"Many orders have already been received for the Chana Star single cab launch model. We are currently ensuring dealer readiness to accommodate the anticipated flood of interest," Thomas added.

The dealer network will be announced prior to its launch and is currently being prepared to distribute products from the third quarter of this year, Thomas announced.

The first shipment of 300 Chana Star light commercial vehicles arrives shortly and national after sales manager Dickie Marias has assured that the necessary after sales support - with full stock availability - will be in place by the launch date.

Prices for the single cab Star range from R64 900 for the 1,0-litre model and R74 900 for the 1,3-litre. Both models have a drop side-equipped load bed with an 800 kg payload.

Other models on offer shortly from Chana South Africa include club cab, double cab and panel van Star variants.
