Citroën, the creator of dramatic concepts such as the C-Airdream and C-AirLounge, should grab headlines again next month when it unveils its racy C-SportLounge - a fantasy 2+2 grand tourer that makes the three-door C4 VTS seem tame!

As one can tell from these pre-show pictures, the C-SportLounge has an imposing front end, with a large air intake and elongated, ascending headlamps. The look is enhanced by the flared wheel arches, wide stance, high waistline, large alloy wheels and sweeping contours, which give the car a drag coefficient of 0,26.

Citroën claims the C-SportLounge, which "captures the true essence of the 21st century", will transport four passengers (in a 2+2 seating configuration" in comfort" and with "refinement".

The interior is said to have an aviation-inspired design. The steering wheel has fixed central controls and gear change paddles, while the "one-piece driver's seat and central console ensure the automatic gearbox and climate controls (are always) within reach".

Apart from the liberal use of high-quality materials in the trim and finish of the interior, the passenger area has "a light and airy feel ensured by the large windscreen and sunroof". The C-SportLounge concept car is also fitted with reverse-opening doors to provide passengers with easier access to the rear seats.
