Mitsubishi is planning a final model for the Mitsubishi Evo – yes, it does appear to be the end of the road for this iconic Japanese sedan – and this Lancer Evolution X Final Concept hints at what that model will be.

It will debut at January’s Tokyo Auto Salon tuning show, which is the Japanese equivalent of the celebrated SEMA (USA) and Essen Motor Shows (Germany). Basically a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbopetrol Evo GSR breathed on by legendary Japanese tuning firm HKS, it boasts 353 kW (the standard Evo does 217 kW).

Adding to the drama are 19-inch RAYS forged aluminum wheels and Yokohama Advan Neovas tyres, as well as a HKS-tuned adjustable suspension that sits the car lower on the asphalt. A matte black exterior finish and glossy black accents on the roof and rear spoiler finish the look.
