Glenn Mercer, a partner in the Cleveland, Ohio, office of consultants McKinsey and Company, will deliver the keynote address at tomorrow’s CAR Conference at Auto Africa.

Mercer replaces Professor Garel Rhys, who has taken ill and cannot travel to South Africa, and comes highly-recommended by the International Automotive Fellowship. He joined McKinsey & Co in 1985 and has primarily served clients in the automotive industry on a global basis since that time.

Mercer also assists in shaping the automotive practice’s research agenda and actively maintains the firm’s external profile in the international automotive arena. He provides guidance for as many as 250 McKinsey teams annually in terms of research, information, and insights into automotive topics.

A prolific writer, who has made more than 100 contributions to automotive publications, Mercer has also provided valuable insight into the automotive industry at numerous international conferences. He holds an MBA from the Tuck School, an MA in Soviet Studies from Yale, and an AB from Dartmouth College.
