A seven-seater with space and options to suit almost any group or family, the Stavic is equipped with middle seats with dual armrests, and has large swing doors that provide excellent access to passengers in the second and third rows. The centre seats can slide forward or backwards, offering more legroom or space for extra cargo.

The air-conditioning system in electronically controlled with ducts in the roof and independent aircon controls for rear compartment occupants.

The speedometer,rev counter, fuel and heat gauges are located in the central cluster, with warning and operation lights in front of the driver. A “multimeter” situated overhead provides information such as travel time and the average speed, and is fitted with a barometer and altimeter as well.

The audio system, with front-loading CD player, tape deck and six speakers, can be controlled via paddle-shift controls located on the leather steering.

The Stavic is powered by a new 270Xdi diesel powerplant that produces 121 kW at 4 000 r/min and 340 N.m at 2 400 r/min. The same engine can be found in the Rexton SUV. It is coupled to the Mercedes-Benz five-speed tiptronic gearbox, allowing the Stavic to reach a top speed of 174 km/h. SsangYong claims fuel consumption of only 9,9l/100 km in the combined cycle.

Double wishbone suspension doe duty in front, and there is a multilink system at the rear.

Safety features include driver and passenger airbags, ABS and EBD.

The SV270 costs R299 900 and comes with a three-year/100 000 km warranty and a three-year/60 000 km maintenance plan.
