With the introduction of the new 992 Porsche 911 (we’ve driven it; read the full report here) and Porsche South Africa now offering the model on its configurator, we’ve had a closer look at all the available options in a bid to spec a Carrera S as lavishly as possible.

Porsche is known for offering its clients a vast bouquet of options, including custom colours and even paint-to-sample arrangements (basically allowing you to show the firm your favourite handbag, golf ball or whatever hue tickles your fancy and get your car painted in that very colour). The latter, though, will set you back some R338 720.

While Porsche already offers a carbon-fibre roof on its current GT2 and GT3 RS products, this option is now available on the Carrera S, too (R68 440). For the ultimate dynamic experience, there's Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (R61 800), while the front axle lifting system is useful at R46 450.

Technological options such as night vision assist (R44 860) and park assist with surround view (R32 490) can also be specified, while comfort options such as seat ventilation (R20 360) and the Burmester sound system (R61 350) all contribute to the highest total we could achieve … which comes to whopping R3 364 300.

Take into account the base price of R1 758 000 (with the five-year/100 000 km maintenance plan included), and the result is an additional R1 606 300 worth of options.
