Back in May 2018, the facelifted Hyundai Creta was revealed in India. Now, ahead of the updated model’s launch in South Africa (which will coincide with that of the refreshed Tucson), we can bring you local pricing.

As before, the line-up comprises three front-wheel-drive derivatives (again all sporting the Executive trim level), with engine options carried over unchanged.

That means the naturally aspirated 1,6-litre petrol unit soldiers on with 90 kW and 150 N.m, and can again be mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. The 1,6-litre turbodiesel powerplant, meanwhile, still makes 94 kW and 260 N.m and is again offered exclusively with a self-shifting gearbox.

Pricing now starts at R339 900 (up R10 000) for the petrol model in manual, while opting for an automatic transmission will push it to R359 900 (also an increase of R10 000). The diesel, meanwhile, comes in at R399 900, which represents an increase of R15 000 over the pre-facelift model.

The updated Creta gains a larger front grille (in the Korean automaker’s latest “cascading” style) that brings it in line with newer siblings in Hyundai’s crossover range, along with a redesigned front bumper. You’ll likely also notice the more substantial faux-skid-plate (repeated at the rear, along with tweaked tail-lamps), the new front foglamp arrangement and the fresh alloy wheel design.

As before, the Creta features six airbags, ABS and EBD, a reversing camera, static bending lights and Isofix child-seat anchors (from what we can tell, it still does without traction control).

Pricing:
Hyundai Creta 1,6 Executive: R339 900
Hyundai Creta 1,6 Executive (auto): R359 900
Hyundai Creta 1,6 CRDi Executive (auto): R399 900
