Back at the end of May 2018, Land Rover South Africa confirmed the new Discovery Sport Landmark Edition would launch here later in the year. And now the local arm of the British automaker has announced pricing.

The new special edition has been conceived to celebrate the Discovery Sport’s success as the fastest-selling Land Rover of all time (126 078 units were registered globally in 2017 alone, with the total currently standing at more than 350 000 units).

Priced from R672 600, the Discovery Sport Landmark Edition features a model-specific colour and trim combination. It is offered in a choice of three colours (Corris Grey, Narvik Black or Yulong White), each topped with a contrasting Carpathian Grey roof with a panoramic glass panel.

The Landmark Edition draws its urge from the automaker’s familiar 132 kW Td4 powertrain, which links a 2,0-litre diesel engine to all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Up front, you’ll notice a new bumper sporting larger air intakes, with the latter (together with the grille and side fender vents) finished in a Graphite Atlas hue. The Landmark Edition furthermore gains a set of 19-inch split-spoke “Mantis” alloys finished in Gloss Dark Grey.

Inside, you’ll find Ebony headlining and grained leather seats as well as Dark Satin Brushed Aluminium trim finishers. Standard equipment includes an eight-inch touchscreen (with navigation), front and rear parking sensors, six-way adjustable front pews, slide and recline functions for the second row and a ten-speaker sound system.
