It seems that tuners have quickly become infatuated with the latest Mercedes-AMG G63 (remember Urban Automotive's widebody G-Class from earlier in February?). This time, Russian firm TopCar has gone to work on the Geländewagen, adding a bold body kit and loads of extra torque.

The tuner offers three performance upgrades for the G63, each supplied by partner Gosha Turbo Tech. The Moscow-based firm claims the most extreme of these (dubbed the "GTT850") increases the original torque output by some 200 N.m, taking it to a whopping 1 050 N.m. To cope with the extra twist, most of the gearbox components have been mechanically reinforced and a revised cooling system have been fitted.

Interestingly, the company has yet to release power figures, but we can say the stock 4,0-litre twin-turbo V8 produces an already impressive 430 kW.

On the outside, the so-called "Inferno" body kit includes an array (as many as 70) of carbon-fibre and kevlar items, which makes it "one of the most advanced products" the company has manufactured. It takes some two weeks to produce one unit, according to TopCar.

The front of the SUV gains a carbon-fibre bonnet, complete with "gill" air intakes, while its underside is covered by a camouflage weave and finished in carbon-kevlar composite. The wheels can be specified in 21-, 22-, or 23-inch sizes, and sit below extended wheel-arches. The oval-shaped exhaust tips, meanwhile, have been replaced by rectangular items and a carbon-fibre spoiler (featuring TopCar's logo) is fitted at the rear. This emblem is repeated on the spare wheel cover.

Although the changes made to this model's interior are subtle, the tuner says buyers have "almost unlimited possibilities" when customising the cabin. A variety of trim options, including leather, wood, gold and (of course) carbon-fibre, is on offer. Even the leather seats and door inserts on this model bear a carbon-fibre weave pattern.

The Inferno kit with visible carbon will set you back €39 650. At the current exchange rate, that's some R630 000 on top of the G63's current price (in SA, at least) of R2 613 644.

The G63 Inferno, seen here in a bespoke semi-matte green hue, will be officially unveiled at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show.
