In February 2018, Mercedes-Benz whipped the covers off its facelifted C-Class sedan. And now the Stuttgart-based automaker has revealed its similarly updated C-Class Coupé and Cabriolet models, including the obligatory Mercedes-AMG C43 variants.

As one would expect, the refreshed coupé and cabriolet versions of the C-Class – which are set to go on display at the New York International Auto Show – adopt many of the new styling cues debuted by the sedan. The two-door models likewise gain fresh engine options.

The biggest chances to the coupé and cabriolet ranges include the adoption of new four-cylinder engines (again, mirroring the sedan line-up), some of which feature Mercedes-Benz’s 48 volt on-board electrical system (dubbed “EQ Boost”), along with standard LED headlamps, an optional 12,3-inch digital cockpit, a new 10,25-inch media display, a new multifunction steering wheel (with touch-control buttons) and the latest adjustable Dynamic Body Control suspension.

As with the sedan, the C200 in coupé or cabriolet guise employs a new-generation turbocharged 1,5-litre four-cylinder petrol unit worth 135 kW and 280 N.m. The C200 is now equipped with an additional 48-volt onboard network with a belt-driven starter/alternator. A 160 N.m electric motor brings an extra 10 kW to the party to bridge “the brief moment” before the turbocharger has built up its full charge pressure. The C200 4Matic, meanwhile, is the same but adds all-wheel drive.

The C220d uses a 2,0-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel mill sending 143 kW and 400 N.m to the rear wheels via a nine-speed automatic gearbox, while the Mercedes-AMG C43 4Matic version of the coupé or cabriolet makes use of a 3,0-litre V6 now worth 287 kW and 520 N.m. The coupé matches the sedan’s claimed 0-100 km/h time of 4,7 seconds, while the cabriolet is one-tenth slower to the mark.
