Lexus has released a fresh teaser video for its fourth-generation IS sedan, while also confirming a new reveal date.

Initially, the Japanese firm had planned to unveil its fresh-faced rear-wheel-drive sports sedan on 10 June. However, the company opted to postpone the reveal due to the “recent global situation”.

Now, Toyota’s luxury division says the covers will come off the new IS sedan on 16 June 2020 (in the early hours of the morning here in South Africa).

The latest five-second teaser video gives us a glimpse of the newcomer’s alloy wheel design, confirms an F Sport variant will be offered (on the IS350 derivative, at least) and shows the C-pillar design. It also provides a close-up of the full-width taillamps.

Of course, Lexus has yet to divulge any further details, although a report from early 2019 suggested the new IS would gain BMW power, in the form of the Munich-based firm’s B58 unit that also powers the Supra.
