Mazda has released a fresh teaser image giving us another glimpse of its new Mazda3, confirming the next-generation versions of the hatchback and sedan will debut at the 2018 Los Angeles Motor Show at the end of November.

The Japanese brand says its new Mazda3 marks the beginning of a “whole new generation” of cars.

In mid-October 2018, the automaker released a 15-second teaser video showing us elements of the fourth-generation Mazda3.

Mazda says the new model will adopt a “richer interpretation” of the brand’s so-called Kodo design language, while also claiming the “fundamental performance attributes” of the car have been “raised to a new level”.

The new Mazda3 will run on the next generation of the automaker’s SkyActiv platform and be powered by the “latest SkyActiv engines” offering what Mazda describes as “responsive control of vehicle speed in any driving situation”.

Whether the new Skyactiv-X engine, which is set to become the world’s first commercial petrol mill to use compression ignition, will be offered remains to be seen.

Back in October 2017, the Japanese brand revealed its Kai concept at the Tokyo Motor Show, essentially previewing this next-generation Mazda3 hatchback.
