The folks over at ABT Sportsline have handed the diesel-powered Audi SQ7 a bold new look as well as even more grunt.

The ABT Aero wide-body package for the oil-burning performance SUV includes an aggressive new front skirt add-on, wing extensions, door strip attachments, a rear skirt add-on and a tailpipe kit. Interestingly, the German tuner also offers a “slim” version of the package, sans wing extensions. The options list, meanwhile, includes items such as a carbon-fibre rear spoiler and fender inserts fashioned from the same lightweight material.

So, what’s happening under the bonnet? Well, as standard, the SQ7’s 4,0-litre V8 turbodiesel engine offers 320 kW and 900 N.m to all four corners. But ABT’s engine control unit pushes those peak figures to 375 kW and 970 N.m.

In addition, ABT says it will upgrade the TDI-badged vehicle’s factory-fitted active sound system to create an “especially charismatic” soundtrack.

ABT also offers 22-inch alloys in three designs as well as various interior components, such as ABT dashboard covers and a branded start-stop switch (complete with an illuminated logo).

The standard version of the facelifted SQ7 is scheduled to arrive in South Africa at some point in the second half of 2020 (although according to Audi SA’s website, it will be detuned to 310 kW). The petrol-powered version, meanwhile, is not currently on the cards for a local introduction.
