The folks over at ABT Sportsline have released a new tuning package for the facelifted Volkswagen Caravelle, handing the T6.1 version of the van more oomph.

Thanks to the fitment of a “specially adapted” engine control unit, ABT says the mid-range 2,0-litre TDI engine offered in Europe now generates 132 kW and 400 N.m (up from the standard 110 kW and 340 N.m).

The German tuner furthermore says a performance upgrade for the flagship 146 kW variant is “under development”.

ABT has also added a Bilstein height-adjustable suspension kit, lending the T6 what it terms “unexpected light-footedness and precision”. The body can be lowered anywhere between 40 and 70 mm. In addition, ABT suspension springs are being developed.

A set of ABT alloy wheels is also offered in either 19- or 20-inch guise, with colours including “mystic black”, matte black with a diamond-machined finish and glossy black with a diamond-machined flange.
