Well, that didn’t take long. Shortly after whipping the covers off its new 2 Series Gran Coupé, BMW has detailed an extensive range of M Performance parts for its fresh-faced compact four-door model.

Developed by the folks over at BMW M, the firm says the new components meet the “highest requirements with regard to performance, production quality and design”. The Munich-based company furthermore claims the parts are “not only visually attractive, but also integral elements of the lightweight construction concept”.

So, what sort of kit are we looking at here? Well, there’s an M rear spoiler in high-gloss black, as well as M Performance stainless steel tailpipe finishers, complete with titanium outer pipes and carbon-fibre casings. A high-gloss black mesh grille, meanwhile, is also available, along with Carbon M Performance side-mirror caps.

Inside, buyers can specify an M Performance steering wheel, complete with Alcantara trim, a red centre marking, carbon-fibre trim and silver-grey hand-sewn cross-stitching. The shift paddles, meanwhile, can be ordered in an M Performance version with “carbon-fibre fabric” instead of the standard chrome surface. There are also M Performance floor mats (complete with the “M Performance” inscription, of course).

The M Performance braking system, meanwhile, features red brake callipers and inner-vented (and perforated) discs, and can be framed by 18- or 19-inch M Performance wheels (in 554 M, 555 M or 556 M guise).

Finally, the brand's go-faster department offers an M Performance slide set for the LED door projectors, an M Performance key holder (fashioned from Alcantara, with carbon-fibre inserts) and even special tyre bags for storing and transporting wheels...
