While the world awaits the unveiling of Ford’s new Bronco, the Blue Oval brand’s Brazilian division has taken the wraps off a new TX4-badged version of its Troller off-roader.

Based on the familiar Ranger platform, the Troller TX4 is exclusive to the South American country, where it was designed and developed.

This latest TX4 version features a six-speed automatic transmission from the Ranger (with a specific calibration developed to “optimise driving on all types of terrain and especially for off-road use”) as well as a locking rear differential (electrically operated via a button on the centre console).

Power comes from Ford’s 3,2-litre five-cylinder turbodiesel, which offers the same 147 kW and 470 N.m as it does in the Ranger.

Offered in three body colour options, the Troller TX4 boasts a snorkel, steel bumpers, auxiliary Hella LED lights and Pirelli Scorpion MTR 245/70 R17 tyres as standard.

The list of standard features furthermore includes a sunroof, dual-zone air-conditioning, a 6,75-inch infotainment screen (with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), electric windows, electrically operated side mirrors and an alarm. Interestingly, the Troller TX4 even features Isofix child-seat anchors and three-point seat belts for all five occupants.
