AC Schnitzer has released a range of upgrades for the F40-generation BMW 1 Series, handing the hatch fresh aftermarket parts.

The German tuner’s catalogue includes exterior revisions, suspension and wheel upgrades and some accessories for the interior. Interestingly, this kit can be applied only to models that do not have the M Sport line package fitted.

The aerodynamics kit for the 1 Series is fairly subtle and consists of a front splitter, side skirts, a rear diffuser (with custom “sport black” exhaust tailpipes) and a rear spoiler. Rounding off the custom look is a set of 19-inch AC1 alloy wheels, which can be finished in either silver and anthracite or just anthracite for those who prefer a darker look.

Tightening up the chassis is a suspension kit from AC Schnitzer, lowering the ride by 35 mm. This comes with a certificate of authenticity and a sticker that says “Suspension Technology approved on the Nürburgring”.

In the cabin, customisation options are limited to two pieces. Mounted to the steering wheel is a set of aluminium AC Schnitzer gearshift paddles (for cars fitted with the Steptronic Sport transmission). A branded key holder made from anodised black aluminium is also offered.

AC Schnitzer says a complete range of custom parts is well on the way for the F40 1 Series, with updated exhaust systems also on the cards. Those who own a 1 Series with the M Sport Line equipped will also be treated to a plethora of options, including spring sets and aerodynamic components.
