American tuner Hennessey has released a new package for the Ford F-150. Dubbed the Venom 775, this upgrade features a hefty supercharger and a number of cosmetic and chassis tweaks.

Mated to Ford’s 5,0-litre Coyote V8, a 2,9-litre supercharger sees the peak power output increase from the stock 290 kW to a whopping 578 kW (delivered at 7 000 r/min). The Texas-based tuner has also added an air-to-water intercooler, high-flow air induction, upgrades to the injector and fuel systems, a stainless steel cat-back exhaust and an HPE engine management calibration. This results in a claimed 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) time of 4,0 seconds and a quarter-mile blast in 12,1 seconds.

Improving the big bakkie's stopping power is a set of Brembo six-piston brake callipers up front, along with 384 mm discs. Chassis enhancements include a six-inch lift kit and 35-inch Toyo off-road tyres, while cosmetic changes include a Hennessey-designed front bumper (with five LEDs) and 20-inch alloy wheels. A custom Venom interior, a ram air bonnet, a new rear bumper and electronically controlled fold-down steps are other options offered by the firm.

Hennessey will sell the kit for $53 300 (that's about R832 000 at the current exchange rate), a figure that includes a three-year/58 000 km limited warranty.
