Upon its official unveailing in March of this year, McLaren claimed its new special edition Super Series product, the 765LT, would reach 0-200 km/h in 7,2 seconds and achieve a quarter-mile time of 10,3 seconds. Having re-tested customer production cars, the British marque has realised that it’s actually faster than initially thought.

Powered by a twin-turbo 4,0-litre V8 pushing 563 kW and 800 N.m of torque to the rear via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, McLaren has come to learn that the 765LT will hit 0-200 km/h in 7,0 seconds (0,2 seconds faster than initially claimed) and clear a quarter-mile in 9,9 seconds (0,4 seconds faster). The 0-100 km/h time of 2,8 seconds remains unchanged.

The first few cars of the limited 765-unit production run have been specified by McLaren Special Operations and delivered to their respective customers. Included in this batch are cars equipped with the Strata theme; boasting a unique “art in motion” graphic paint scheme inspired by a city skyline and finished in a three-colour scheme requiring 390 hours of hand painting and detailing.

Colours included here are Azores Orange for the base, contrasted by Memphis Red and Cherry Black. These are accentuated by Volcano Red for the front brake callipers and Azores Orange for the rear. The interior hosts an array of colour-coded trims such as orange seat perforation and a push-to-drink system in Memphis Red.

Another theme revealed by MSO, is based oN a 3D honeycomb scheme, labelled as “GEOHEX”. This features a combination of Tarmac Black and Tokyo Cyan with visual carbon fibre components and matching interior trimmings.
