Porsche surprised the media at the Geneva International Motor Show by unveiling its new Mission E Cross Turismo Concept, previewing the brand's first foray into the electric crossover segment.

Measuring 4 950 mm long, the all-wheel-drive concept promises impressive interior packaging and, of course, plenty of speed.

The concept's powertrain comprises two permanent magnet synchronous motors with a total system output of 440 kW. This gives the electric crossover a claimed 0-100 km/h time of less than 3,5 seconds, with Porsche adding that the 200 km/h mark is reached in 12 seconds.

The Mission E Cross Turismo boasts an 800-volt architecture that allows for fast charging and a touchscreen infotainment system complete with eye-tracking technology.

"The Mission E Cross Turismo is an expression of how we envision the all-electric future. It combines sportiness and everyday practicality in unique style. Our vehicle will be fast to drive, but also quick to recharge and able to replicate its performance time after time," said Porsche CEO, Oliver Blume.

Although this is a concept, a road-ready production model is expected to be arrive in the next couple of years, after the sedan based on the Mission E Concept presented back in 2015.
