With the official reveal of the new Mercedes-Benz GLA just around the corner, the brand has teased an image of the compact crossover’s premium cabin, including a unique safety feature.

Forming part of the blind spot assist system, a new exit warning presumably uses the car’s blind spot function to indicate whether it’s safe to open your door.

Detailed in this shot is an interior that looks sourced from the current-generation A-Class, including that car's touch-sensitive track pad and infotainment screen. Noteworthy is that fact that the grab handle placed across the door in the A-Class has been omitted on this car.

The official reveal of the GLA will take place on 11 December 2019. Click here for more details on the German brand’s next crossover.
