Mercedes-Benz has unvealed its Vito Sport, the German automaker’s new top-of-the-range commercial van.

The Vito Sport is available in two engine options; the 2,1-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel 116 CDI, which produces 120 kW and 380 N.m of torque, and the 119 CDI. Although of similar displacement to the 116 CDI, the latter unit is good for 140 kW and 440 N.m of torque available from 1 400 r/min. Both these engines are mated with Mercedes’ seven-speed auto ‘box.

According to the Three-pointer Star, the range-topping Vito comes equipped with a high level of standard specification. Sport trim includes items such as decals on the bonnet and side sills, LED head- and taillamps, alloy wheels and roof rails. Adding to its sports persona, this Vito has been fitted with sports suspension, lowering the people-mover by 10 mm compared with the standard model. Metallic paint is a no-cost option, and the bumpers and side mirrors are colour-coded.

Peek inside the leather-clad interior and you’ll find the firm’s Audio 40 seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, featuring sat-nav, air-con, heated front seats and a centre console storage compartment. A reverse camera with parking assist and cruise control are also included in the package.

Specified with Sport trim line, Vito Tourer Sport models ship with 19-inch alloys, while lesser models (in Crew van guise) receive 17-inch items.
