The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross has just received a notable set of styling revisions, both inside and out. It will also be joined by a new plug-in hybrid variant when it hits the international market in the fourth quarter of next year.

The styling elements used for the Eclipse Cross’s exterior aim to produce a sleeker and sportier appearance. The front retains the Dynamic Shield design but now sports a new bumper guard and refreshed head- and foglamp layout.

At the rear, the hatch and window have been adjusted to give a more sophisticated line and improve visibility. The three-dimensional taillamps have been extended upwards and inwards to enhance the Cross's appearance of stability and width. The tailgate has also been rejigged to feature a sharply sculpted hexagonal design; a nod to the company’s iconic rear spare tyre mount used on models such as the Pajero.

Changes within include a new black upholstery for the seats with silver and light grey contrasting accents. This combination features on the door trims, too. Additionally, a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system ships standard and has been moved closer to the front seats for easier access. The new setup also adds a volume and tuning knob for faster reference. The touchpad on the centre console has been removed in favour of more storage space.
