Mitsubishi has released a teaser image previewing the new front end of the facelifted Pajero Sport.

In a short release accompanying the image, the Japanese firm confirmed its refreshed body-on-frame SUV would be fully revealed in Thailand later in July 2019. Mitsubishi promised “further improvements” to the Pajero Sport’s “design, convenience, comfort and quality”.

As you can no doubt tell from the teaser image, the updated model will adopt the firm’s latest exterior styling cues (up front, at least), bringing it neatly into line with the likes of the facelifted Triton bakkie, new Eclipse Cross and refreshed ASX.

While we can expect a handful of tweaks to the cabin as well, we don’t foresee much changing under the bonnet, where the firm’s 2,4-litre turbodiesel unit will likely continue to offer 133 kW and 430 N.m.

Mitsubishi South Africa’s current Pajero Sport range – which competes with the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Everest and Isuzu MU-X line-ups – comprises three derivatives, with the limited-edition Shogun variant having arrived late in 2018.
