Pickup Design, the subsidiary of Poland's Carlex Design solely focused on modifying bakkies such as the Mercedes-Benz X-Class, Toyota Hilux and Volkswagen Amarok, has revealed a bespoke bicycle rack for its vehicles. 

The “StyleRack” (as the company calls it) is fitted to the EXY Viale, a Mercedes-Benz X-Class-based model. The roll-bar integrated bicycle carrier is manufactured from a carbon-steel alloy, covered by aluminium and powder coated. According to the tuner, the “attractive” item is durable enough to manage a load of 40 kg, with its Thule ProRide 598 rails each able to carry a bicycle of up to 20 kg. An additional rail, costing R2 796 at the current exchange rate, can be specified for a third bike and increases load capacity to 60 kg.

The Polish firm has also fitted the StyleRack with a remote controlled electric lift system, which makes unloading the bicycles simpler.

All this convenience and durability will, however, cost you. The StyleRack is listed for €6 143,85 (that’s R96 300,49 in local money), before fitment. The latter will cost you an extra €227,55 (R3 569,23).
