Well, that didn’t take long. The folks over at ABT Sportsline have released a tuning package for Audi’s new RS6 Avant, boosting the already wicked wagon's peak power output to a whopping 515 kW.

In standard form, Ingolstadt's super-estate employs a twin-turbo 4,0-litre V8 petrol engine (complete with mild-hybrid system) churning out 441 kW and 880 N.m, which is delivered to all four corners via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

German tuner ABT, however, has now developed a “bespoke software” package to hike peak outputs to 515 kW and 880 N.m.

ABT claims the extra oomph slashes the RS6’s 0-100 km/h sprint time from Audi’s claimed 3,6 seconds to just 3,3 seconds. The company says the ABT Performance Upgrade comes “a whole host of engine protection measures”.

As standard, the RS6’s top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h, although we suspect the Kempten-based tuner will offer an upgrade that raises that figure, too...
