The new BMW 1 Series has only just broken cover, but the Munich-based firm is already showing off a range of M Performance parts for the (now front-driven) third-generation hatchback.

BMW says an “extensive range” of M Performance parts will be offered soon after the new 1 Series hits the market, both enhancing the vehicle’s appearance and meeting “functional requirements” in terms of lightweight construction and aerodynamics.

Many of the new parts will be offered sporting a fresh carbon-fibre look, while others will come in high-gloss black. Side lettering in Frozen Black will furthermore be offered.

The M Performance front splitter, horizontal-flow rear spoiler and the aero flicks in high-gloss black, for instance, “optimise aerodynamics”. The same applies to the high-gloss black side-sill insert and the carbon-fibre rear diffuser.

BMW says the carbon-fibre components (including the M Performance side-mirror caps) are crafted by hand before being sealed with a clear finish and given a high-gloss polish.

The catalogue also includes an 18-inch sports brake system, complete with red-painted callipers and inner-vented perforated discs (gripped by four-piston fixed callipers up front and single-piston floating items at the rear).

New 18-inch forged Y-Spoke 554M alloys are also on the menu, finished in Jet Black matte with a multicoloured graphic print, along with Y-Spoke 711M items in Ferric Grey. The range also includes 19-inch Double Spoke 555M wheels in a dual-tone finish.

Other interesting items include LED door projectors (with M Performance motifs), an M Performance steering wheel (with an Alcantara grip area), carbon-fibre shift paddles and velvet velour floor mats (with an embroidered M Performance inscription).
