Fiat has revealed a raft of Mopar accessories for its new Strada half-tonne bakkie, which is sold in selected South American markets.

Unveiled back in April 2020, the new Strada will seemingly be built in left-hand-drive form only, which means it’s off the table for South Africa (despite a distinct lack of local rivals for Nissan’s NP200).

The Italian firm says the new Mopar parts (there are more than 50 accessories in total) were created “in conjunction” with the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles design centre to increase the level of personalisation available for the new Strada.

“The main objective is to make this unique example a mobile showcase of the enormous growth in the possibilities of personalisation obtained with the work done to significantly expand the portfolio of original accessories for the new Fiat Strada,” said Luís Santamaria, director of Mopar for Latin America.

Based on a Strada Freedom single-cab variant, the vehicle in question features six accessories: a removable trailer hitch, a load-bed divider, an elongated bed-rail system, rubber floor mats, a bicycle holder and side steps. The bakkie also gains a special exterior colour combination.

As a reminder, the new Strada is also offered in double-cab guise, measuring 4 480 mm long, with a load bay measuring 1 173 mm by 1 059 mm. Fiat says the newcomer has a payload of 650 kg (a figure that rises to 720 kg for the single-cab model). Ground clearance comes in at 208 mm while the Italian firm claims an approach angle of 24 degrees.
