Volkswagen has released fresh teaser sketches of its upcoming fifth-generation Caddy, again promising “a completely new car” with “no screw left untouched”.

This is the second set of sketches the VW firm’s commercial arm has published. The new Caddy is set to be revealed towards the end of February 2020.

The Wolfsburg-based company says the new generation of the Caddy “is going to be very different” to its predecessor yet fulfil “all familiar demands”. It will again be offered in commercial-use van and private-use MPV guise, with a choice of two wheelbases.

Described as depicting a “draft design” of the new Caddy, the sketches (one of the MPV and one of the Cargo van) show larger wheels (“as requested”, says VW), fresh LED graphics in the headlamps and new vertically arranged slim taillamps.

VW furthermore confirmed the passenger-vehicle version would be offered with a “huge” panoramic glass roof (the “largest in the segment”, it claims). In addition, Volkswagen says more driver assistance systems will be added.
