Kia has revealed its new Sonet concept at Auto Expo 2020 in India, with the show car previewing a fresh “global” production model expected to launch in the second half of 2020.

From what we understand, the new Sonet will share its platform with the Hyundai Venue, which will see it slot in below the Seltos. It should borrow the Hyundai’s engine options, too.

While the Korean firm says the concept will be “developed further”, the show car provides a clear indication of the new model’s styling, with Kia’s signature tiger-nose grille dominating the facia.

Inside, you’ll find a 10,25-inch infotainment screen as well as a Bose premium audio system. Kia claims the production version of the Sonet will boast “best-in-class interior space” as well as “certain first-in-class features”.

Will the Sonet be offered in South Africa? Well, Kia Motors SA has yet to reveal its plans but there's little reason to think the newcomer wouldn't be earmarked for our market...
