Opel has revealed the new Mokka’s engine line-up, which in Europe will include a turbocharged petrol mill (in two states of tune) and a turbodiesel unit.

When the second-generation Mokka was unveiled in June 2020, the German firm concentrated on the all-electric version, which offers 100 kW and 260 N.m plus a claimed range of 322 km.

Now, however, the company has released details of the internal combustion powertrain range. As expected, the new Mokka employs engines familiar from the PSA Group.

The line-up kicks off with a turbocharged 1,2-litre petrol mill, offering 74 kW and 205 N.m to the front axle via a six-speed manual gearbox. There’s also the option of a 96 kW/230 N.m version of this engine, paired with either the aforementioned six-speed manual cog-swapper or an eight-speed automatic transmission.

And for diesel lovers? Well, Opel will offer a 1,5-litre oil-burner, paired with a six-speed manual ‘box and producing 81 kW and 250 N.m. The Rüsselsheim-based brand claims this variant sips diesel at just 3,8 L/100 km (using the older NEDC system, that is).
