Porsche has unwrapped its new Macan Turbo, with the fresh flagship variant employing the Zuffenhausen-based firm’s latest twin-turbo 2,9-litre V6 petrol engine.

In the new Macan Turbo, this six-pot (which is, of course, already used in certain Cayenne and Panamera derivatives) offers 324 kW and 550 N.m (the latter between 1 800 and 5 600 r/min) to all four corners via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The result, with the optional Sport Chrono Package fitted, is a sprint from standstill to 100 km/h in a claimed 4,3 seconds. That’s an improvement of three-tenths over the previous version of the Macan Turbo (which was powered by a 3,6-litre six-cylinder unit). Top speed is 270 km/h, while an uprated braking system (including a tungsten carbide coating for the discs) improves stopping power.

The Macan Turbo is visually distinguished by its model-specific front apron, a fixed rear roof spoiler with a double-wing design and new 20-inch wheels. Sport Design side skirts and side-mirror caps are also included, while the sports exhaust system culminates in silver twin tailpipes.

Porsche furthermore offers height-adjustable air suspension with optimised rolling pistons and new shock absorber hydraulics as an option. Inside, you’ll find adaptive 18-way sports seats, a 14-speaker Bose surround sound system, Alcantara roof lining and the brushed aluminium interior package.
