The new Toyota Yaris Cross has officially hit the market in Japan, where the automaker offers a range of Gazoo Racing parts for the baby crossover.

Revealed in April 2020, the Yaris-badged crossover slots in below the C-HR, sharing the hatchback’s wheelbase of 2 560 mm (although its overall length is some 240 mm more at 4 180 mm).

The list of GR parts offered in Japan is similar to that created for the Hilux and includes fresh trim for the front bumper and doors, along with mud flaps (offered in black or red), a stainless-steel twin-tailpipe piece and a set of 18-inch alloy wheels finished in matte black.

Toyota furthermore offers window tints, carbon-effect exterior door handle protectors, a carbon-fibre reinforced-plastic numberplate frame, a GR-branded sunshade and a likewise-branded luggage compartment carpet set (for the record, that boot can swallow some 390 litres, according to Toyota’s measurements).

In Japan, the Yaris Cross can be specified with a naturally aspirated 1,5-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine mated to the front axle via a continuously variable transmission (CVT) or a hybrid version of the same engine with all-wheel drive.
