Peugeot has revealed its facelifted 5008, with the seven-seater model’s mid-cycle makeover coming hot on the heels of that of its smaller sibling, the 3008.

Like the 3008, the refreshed 5008 adopts the French firm’s latest family face, complete with a frameless grille and fang-shaped daytime running lights. Interestingly, the model nameplate has been added to the leading edge of the bonnet, too.

Round back, you’ll find new full-LED taillamps, while updated body colours and a new “Black Pack” option have been added to the mix as well.

Inside, the updated 5008 gains a new 10-inch high-definition touchscreen to go along with the 12,3-inch instrument cluster, as well as various upgraded driver assistance features.

In Europe, Peugeot will offer the 5008 with a turbocharged 1,2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine generating 96 kW and 230 N.m. There’s also again a turbocharged 1,6-litre, four-cylinder unit with 132 kW and 250 N.m. In addition, the French company offers a 1,5-litre, four-cylinder turbodiesel with 96 kW/300 N.m and a 2,0-litre oil-burner delivering 132 kW and 400 N.m.

No word yet on when the updated 5008 is scheduled to touch down in South Africa...
