Nissan South Africa has expanded its Qashqai range with the introduction of a new Midnight Edition variant.

Priced at R480 800, the Qashqai Midnight Edition features the Japanese firm’s turbocharged 1,2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine, directing its 85 kW and 165 N.m to the front axle via a continuously variable transmission.

So, what sets the newcomer apart? Well, as the name suggests, black is key theme, with items such as the roof, 19-inch alloys and side-mirror caps finished in the dark hue. There are also black roof rails, a darkened front bumper insert and a darkened grille.

Inside, the Qashqai Midnight Edition gains black-finished air vents and a black gear knob, along with Alcantara-trim for the seats and floor mats featuring red "Qashqai" badging.
