Haval South Africa has confirmed it plans to launch the facelifted H2 locally in the first quarter of 2020.

The local arm of the Chinese firm displayed the updated model at the Festival of Motoring in Johannesburg.

Haval says the refreshed H2 range will again comprise four variants, each powered by an unchanged turbocharged 1,5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine (again sending the front wheels some 105 kW and 202 N.m via either a six-speed manual gearbox or six-speed automatic transmission). City and Luxury trim levels will also carry over.

Set to be offered in a choice of eight exterior colours, the updated H2 will gain a revised grille, new headlamps and updated front and rear bumpers. It will furthermore feature changes to the bonnet and fenders as well as new five-spoke 18-inch alloys.

Inside, the updated H2 will gain “various minor updates” and feature Apple CarPlay as standard. Each of the four variants will boast a sunroof, although the top-spec Luxury versions will gain a panoramic item. In addition, automatic models will gain a new gear-lever design.

Pricing for the updated range has yet to be confirmed.
