Known for uprating BMWs, the folks over at Dähler Design & Technik have now turned their attention to the Z4 M40i’s Japanese cousin, unveiling two performance packs to “comprehensively optimise” the Toyota GR Supra.

Sporting a similar engine to that found under the bonnet of BMW roadster's (watch the Z4 M40i take on the GR Supra and Ford Mustang GT in a drag race here), the rear-driven GR Supra’s turbocharged 3,0-litre inline-six has been boosted to 300 kW and 610 N.m of torque.

However, opt for the level two performance increase and Dähler extracts an additional 40 kW and 50 N.m from the powerplant to push peak figures to a whopping 340 kW and 660 N.m. That’s 90 kW and 160 N.m more than the standard GR Supra, which we track tested round Aldo Scribante Racetrack at Performance Shootout 2020.

Further upgrades include an in-house-developed stainless steel performance exhaust system and a suspension lowering kit. Exterior revisions remain subtle, with the most notable being a new set of alloys, available in either “ultra-light” 20-inch guise or aluminium forged 21-inchers.

As a reminder, reported in February 2020 that Toyota South Africa Motors confirmed the updated GR Supra, boasting more power, is on the cards for a local introduction.
