Mercedes-Benz South Africa has released pricing for the initial models in its refreshed E-Class range, again comprising sedan, coupé and cabriolet body styles.

While we’ve already brought you local Mercedes-AMG E63 S pricing, now we’ll take a look at the standard sedan variants as well as the updated three-door derivatives.

At launch in SA, the E-Class sedan range will comprise only E200 and E220d models. The former is priced from R927 680 and offers 145 kW and 320 N.m from its turbocharged 2,0-litre, four-cylinder petrol powerplant. The E220d sedan, meanwhile, starts at R988 200 and makes 143 kW and 400 N.m courtesy of its 2,0-litre, four-cylinder turbodiesel unit. Both variants employ a nine-speed automatic transmission driving the rear axle as standard.

And the coupé and cabriolet line-ups? Well, here you’ll also find an E200 derivative (with the same peak outputs as above), priced from R1 044 040 in coupé form and R1 172 640 in soft-top guise.

Furthermore, there’s an E300 in each line-up, featuring the same engine but with the wick turned up to 190 kW and 370 N.m. The E300 coupé starts at R1 139 280, while the topless version comes in from R1 276 640.

Finally, Mercedes-Benz SA again lists the facelifted Mercedes-AMG E53 4Matic+ in both coupé and cabriolet form, priced from R1 630 600 and R1 768 960, respectively. Interestingly, there no sign yet of the E53 sedan, which like its three-door siblings, uses a 320 kW/520 N.m turbocharged 3,0-litre straight-six with the firm’s so-called “EQ Boost” starter-alternator (adding temporary boosts of 16 kW and 250 N.m).
