Toyota has revealed its updated Fortuner TRD Sportivo at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show.

Of course, the TRD Sportivo variant already existed in the firm’s Fortuner range in Indonesia (and a handful of other markets), but this latest model boasts updated items such as new bumpers, a fresh grille and redesigned alloy wheels.

The TRD Sportivo also features a skid-plate under the front bumper and new foglamp bezels, as well as a new finish for items such as the grille and bonnet trim. In addition, the decals running along the SUV’s flanks have been redesigned, while the side steps are now black (they were previously silver).

The flagship variant has furthermore gained an electrically powered tailgate, complete with a so-called “kick sensor” sited under the rear bumper.

Interestingly, the Fortuner TRD Sportivo is offered in Indonesia powered by either the Japanese automaker's naturally aspirated 2,7-litre petrol engine or the 2,4 turbodiesel (rather than the 2,8-litre oil-burner and the 4,0-litre V6 petrol mill available in flagship variants here in South Africa).
