Keen on a new Toyota Quantum but need off-road ability, too? Well, an Australian company has a possible solution, handing the van a full 4x4 conversion.

Yes, the folks over at Queensland-based Bus 4x4 have detailed their conversion kit for Toyota’s new Quantum (which is badged as the HiAce in Australia).

Featuring full-time high and low range 4x4, the package includes a 180 mm lift as well as modified independent front and rear suspension.

Billed as being “ideal for harsh environments”, the kit furthermore adds a rear diff lock, while front protection rails and rock sliders are optional. The firm also offers a choice of upgraded wheels (up to 17 inches in diameter) and tyres.

Other interesting accessories include a bull bar, an A-pillar-mounted roof snorkel, underbody protection plates and even a retractable step to make entering and exiting the raised cabin a little easier.

The company doesn’t say, but we’re guessing the Quantum 4x4 is powered by the standard 2,8-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel unit.

Bus 4x4 says its conversion kit can be adapted across much of the Quantum range, from long-wheelbase Crew Cab variants to the commuter derivatives (including the flagship VX model, which is badged as the Granvia in that country).
