Volvo Cars has finally revealed its new-generation V60 estate, which runs on the Swedish brand?s SPA platform.

Volvo promises the new V60 has a luxurious interior, increased levels of interior space, advanced connectivity, the latest driver-support systems and other safety technology.

Following the automaker?s announcement that it plans to electrify all new cars from 2019, the new V60 wagon will come with two plug-in hybrid powertrain options: the new 254 kW T6 Twin Engine AWD and the 291 kW T8 Twin Engine AWD.

Petrol choices will include the familiar T5 and T6 powertrains, while drivers who prefer diesel will be able to select D3 or D4 engines.

Volvo says ?a comprehensive list? of safety features will come standard, including driver support systems already offered in the various 90 Series models and the new XC60.

The new wagon will feature the Gothenburg-based automaker?s Sensus infotainment system, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality, as well as 4G. The system is controlled via a 9-inch tablet-like touchscreen that combines vehicle functions, navigation, connected services and entertainment apps.

The new V60 boasts a claimed 529 litres of luggage space, with a whopping 1 364 litres of utility space.
