Unveiled in June 2018 as part of Porsche's 70th anniversary celebrations, it will come as little surprise that the stunning 911 Speedster Concept garnered "enough" interest for the brand to subsequently green light it for production.

You'll have to be quick, though, as alongside an updated version of the 911 Speedster being shown at the Paris Motor Show is an order book with only 1 984 entries; a production number paying homage to the year Porsche's first 356 "Number 1" obtained its operating license.

While the second version of 911 Speedster shares its Carrera 4 Cabriolet shell and GT3-sourced underpinnings with the striking first example shown earlier in 2018, the "Guard Red" show car gains new centre lock 21-inch wheels, updated daytime running light units, black chrome and platinum side-mirror caps, and a bonnet-mounted fuel cap.

Black leather upholstery with red accenting completes an interior package highlighted with the inclusion of a six-speed manual gearshift lever.

As previously, Porsche claims the 911 Speedster's flat-six engine will produce in excess of 370 kW.

Interestingly, once production officially begins in 2019, the Speedster will be the first Porsche to be available with the brand's new Heritage Design Packages, offering customers even more choice when it comes to individualisation.
