Roush Performance, the company best known for tuning Ford vehicles, has unveiled its latest upgrade package for the Mustang ... which gives the Blue Oval brand's V8-powered GT model a 529 kW punch!

Similar to the limited-edition JackJammer the American firm revealed earlier in 2018, the Roush Stage 3 Mustang will be equipped with the tuner's TVS R2650 supercharger, increasing the power output of the standard (facelifted) Mustang GT's 5,0-litre V8 by some 186 kW and 300 N.m of torque. The result is a Mustang with 529 kW and 827 N.m of torque sent to its rear axle.

The engine is not, however, the only mechanical element of the 'Stang that received the Roush treatment. The company has also fitted the RS3 with revised coilovers (three-way adjustable suspension can furthermore be specified).

Although looking fairly subtle compared with many other modified Mustangs, this red RS3 with its 20-inch black alloys (wrapped in 275/35 R20 rubber), a black decal from its nose to its rear (repeated along its flanks) and an aero kit, will without doubt turn heads. Opt for the optional smartphone app adjustable active exhaust package and the RS3 will surely turn even more.

According to the folks at Autoblog, the RS3 package will cost some $22 925 (that's about R341 000 in local money). Unfortunately, the standard (pre-facelift) 5,0-litre V8 Mustang currently available in South Africa has only 306 kW compared with the updated 343 kW model available in the many other markets.

Already available for pre-order in the United States, the Roush Stage 3 package will officially hit the market on 10 October. It's not yet clear whether it will be offered here in South Africa.
