Yes, you're looking at another Volkswagen Golf 8 render. This time, a digital artist has transformed the latest version of the hatchback into a three-door model complete with R32 design cues.

Russian artist Aksyonov Nikita dreamed up the images, lopping off the rear doors (VW has already confirmed, of course, that the eighth-generation Golf will be offered in five-door guise only).

Nikita furthermore handed the Golf’s front end a more aggressive lower facia, even adding carbon-fibre trim (a treatment repeated at the rear). In addition, the rendered model boasts central-exit dual tailpipes, clearly drawing inspiration from the VR6-powered Mk5 R32.

While VW definitely won’t be offering a three-door R32 model in this generation, it will produce a Golf GTI, Golf GTI TCR, Golf GTD, Golf R and plug-in hybrid GTE (the latter having already been unveiled).

Since the reveal of the new hatchback, we’ve also seen the Golf 8 digitally transformed into a GTI (again, a model that will certainly happen) and a Jetta-shaped sedan (one that in all likelihood won’t, given the vehicle is no longer produced for Europe)...
