A digital artist has released renderings of a facelifted Polo, handing the popular hatchback a front end inspired by the recently revealed Nivus.

The fresh-faced Nivus, of course, is a new coupé-style crossover developed in Latin America and employing the same MQB A0 platform as the (slightly smaller) T-Cross and Polo.

Brazilian designer Kleber Silva created the renders, effectively attaching the new coupé-style crossover’s bonnet, headlamps, grille and lower air-intake to the B-segment hatch’s front end. In addition, Silva handed the Polo a set of Nivus-style taillamps, complete with black trim spanning the width of the bootlid.

The sixth-generation Polo hatchback – which is built at Uitenhage here in South Africa – was unveiled in June 2017, so logic suggests a facelift will be revealed within a couple of years.
