Audi South Africa has confirmed that it plans to launch both the S7 Sportback and the flagship RS7 Sportback in 2020.

According to the local arm of the Ingolstadt-based firm, the new S7 Sportback is scheduled to arrive in South Africa in the first quarter of 2020. While variants offered in Europe draw their urge from 3,0-litre V6 turbodiesel engines, expect SA-spec models to employ Audi’s familiar twin-turbo 2,9-litre V6 petrol (likely offering 331 kW and 600 N.m).

The launch of the new RS7 Sportback, meanwhile, has been pencilled in for the second half of 2020. Revealed at the Frankfurt motor show in September, the latest version of the RS7 is powered by a 4,0 TFSI V8 (which also benefits from a mild-hybrid system featuring a 48 V main on-board electrical system) generating 441 kW and 800 N.m.

The standard A7 55 TFSI Sportback, which as we’ve already reported is priced from R1 250 000, has just arrived in Audi dealerships nationwide. This derivative uses a turbocharged 3,0-litre V6 petrol engine (again, complete with a 48V mild-hybrid system) offering 250 kW and 500 N.m.
