The Suzuki Jimny is an off-roader that’s not afraid to get its tyres dirty, which is why a bakkie variant makes so much sense. Unfortunately, this one, dubbed the Jimny Sierra Pickup Style concept, was put together (along with two other one-off builds) to merely showcase Suzuki’s design skills at the 2019 Tokyo Auto Salon.

The Jimny Sierra Pickup Style takes the form of a single-cab bakkie with ‘Sierra’ branding and wood strips along the profile boasting the Suzuki badge beneath a rhino silhouette. The unique bakkie also comes with a set of retro steel wheels, a colour-coded grille with a redesigned air intake and a more robust front bumper. Suzuki hasn’t given a good view of the rear, but we can see a fairly tiny bed with a sports bar hosting four spotlamps.

For those who seek a journey into unknown lands, Suzuki has put together the Jimny Survive concept, which looks suitable to use in fairly extreme conditions. The overlanding show car features robust chequer plate panels on the front bumper and side panels as well as a new grille design with headlamp protectors. It’s also kitted out with an external anti-roll bar which doubles as a roof rack.

The final build of the trio uses the Swift Sport as a base for an aggressive hot hatch image. The Swift Sports Yellow Rev features a lowered suspension, front splitter, "angry" headlamp covers and an all-new "high chroma yellow pearl" paintjob, together with an eye-catching livery.
