The driver of an A90-generation Toyota GR Supra has been arrested for reportedly clocking 228 km/h on the N4 in Gauteng.

According to the Gauteng Traffic Police, the 47-year-old driver was nabbed on Saturday morning in a 120 km/h zone.

The Supra driver was arrested and is facing charges of reckless driving and exceeding the speed limit.

Separately, the Gauteng Traffic Police took a 42-year-old driver of a green Mercedes-AMG GT into custody after he was reportedly clocked at 187 km/h on the N1.

"It is so unfortunate that as we wrap up transport month, we come across such road violators,” said Sello Maremane, Gauteng Traffic Police spokesperson, according to Jacaranda News.

"We just want to warn our motorists as Gauteng traffic police we will leave no stone unturned to ensure that people comply with the rules of the road," he added.
