When Toyota revealed its new, third-generation Auris at the Geneva International Motor Show early in March, it failed to release images of the boldly styled newcomer’s cabin (and blacked out the show car's windows). Now, however, the Japanese brand has revealed the US-spec Corolla hatchback, complete with the first shots of the interior.

Set to be officially unveiled at the New York International Auto Show, the Corolla hatchback is essentially the US equivalent of the Euro-spec Auris. Just how closely the interior of the new Auris will resemble that of this US-spec model (which previously wore the Scion badge) remains to be seen, but we're guessing much will be carried over.

At the centre of the instrument panel you’ll find a high-resolution eight-inch multimedia touchscreen standing proud. The centre stack screen provides access to vehicle settings, audio controls, navigation, smartphone and apps. Apple CarPlay is also included, along with Amazon Alexa integration.

The climate control buttons, meanwhile, are located below the multimedia portal. The centre console also now incorporates a tray ahead of the gearshift that can hold small items, or optionally serve as a wireless device charging area. The US-spec model features high-gloss materials paired with matte elements, along with a seven-inch TFT multi-information display.
